If the VA determined that my ankle injury is in fact service connected…?

by admin on June 29, 2010

…should I have been told that I had a service connected disability upon my seperation from service? Shouldn’t I have a valid claim to compensation back to my EAS date? The doctor that examined my ankle when it was first injured ( badly torn ligaments ) told me that I’d have no claim if I didn’t allow them to put it in a cast,(I sucked it up, wrapped it, took enough motrin to knock out a horse, and completed S.O.I. A young, tough-guy Marine decision). I know now that was not true. What can I do?

If its in your military medical records then you are entitled to compensation, find a good va rep, not all of them are good, ask some vets around you who are drawing compensation, they know who to talk to
